Home learning...

I get a few emails a week as to what learning program we use in our homeschool. I have answered that here if you are interested.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Ang! What a blessing to have a dinner you cooked on your woodstove and served in your beautiful off grid home. Hugs!

I couldn't agree more with your educational philosophy.
One thing that really struck a cord with me was your statements about children needing outside time. We feel so strongly about this and also the need to limit videos (or tv), video games, and computer time. We didn't do this enough with our older children and although they seem to have survived okay, it became a priority when we had our younger girls. We do not purchase *and also ask relatives not to purchase* electronic games or toys and I take our girls outside for at least 2 hours every morning and afternoon. Because we live in the city, our children must be supervised outside at all times. It's a sacrifice because that's time that I could be doing other things, but it is so, so important for them to be able to be children and to run and play and pretend. Unfortunately, they don't stay little for long.
