What is your favorite Little House episode?

The Gentle Giant and I were laughing and discussing what our favorite House on the Prairie episode was…

The Gentle Giant's favorite episode was when Laura sold her horse Bunny to Nels Olsen for Ma's cook stove. Pa went into the mercantile on Christmas Eve to purchase the stove and it was GONE!

My favorite episode(s) HAVE to be when Laura and Almanzo (Manly-that name always creeped me out) were falling in LOVE!

So, what was your favorite episode?

I have to agree with your husband- it's so sweet to see Laura be excited and then bittersweet as she gives Bunny away... awww! BTW, thanks for letting us have these little peeks of your life!

The Christmas one where the snow was up to the roof.
I am feeling like that here in the northlands.
Not up to the roof, but half way up the windows....
More fell last night.

Loving your posts.
My son asks me if you've updated whenever he comes by.

I have to agree with your hubby. I watch that episode at least a couple times every Christmas and tear up every single time! Its a family favorite! We love Little House so much, we have gotten a season DVD set each year for the past several years.

I also LOVE reading your blog!

I could never pick just one. The holiday ones were always the best, though. One of my favorites (even though not in the books) was when Nellie met her husband and became much nicer.
I read all of the books as a child, though, and when Laura and Almanzo were falling in love were some of my favorites. I also enjoyed reading about her setting up her household when she got married.

I have so many favorites! I'd have to say I really like the Christmas one when they're snowed in, and Mr. Edwards brings goodies for the girls. All they get is a candy cane and a mug, but Laura learns what Christmas is really about.
I also like the one when Pa hurts his back, and has to fill up a barn with bags of grain. The girls come to help, and then the whole community pitches in. Anyway....sweet memories!

I love the Christmas special where everyone is snowed in and they, each one, tell of their favorite Christmas memory. We bought that one, and watch it every December.
I watch the re-runs when they are on....have always loved Little House, and wanted to be like ma. HA!

I too curl up with coffee or popcorn and watch "little house" on my day off. Very seldom though, but it is one of my favorite things to do. I can't pick just one episode. Love this blog though!!

Oh that is a hard question to answer. I think My favorite times were when Nelly and Laura were still younger and Laura always got Nelly back for being Nelly.

The one where Albert gets hooked on Doc Baker's drugs (one in every family I tell ya). No just kidding.

I love the one where Laura and her friend find fool's gold and she fantasizes about her family being rich. Remember?

I also really love reading the books to my kids as they each get old enough.

I like the one where Laura and her friend think they have found gold. So they spend days and days getting it and then find out it is fools gold. The day dreaming of all she could buy for her family touches me every time.

The one where Laura doesn't die from rabies after being bitten by a racoon. I was about eight and deeply in love with "Laura", so I was very relived.

Changed my mind - I have to agree with Mary. I forgot about the Christmas they were snowed in with Mr. Edwards. I like that one even better than the stove episode, but both were good! When I first moved into an apartment with my friend after high school (at the age of 17) we used to eat TV dinners in front of that show and wipe the tears away during the touching moments. I'm still a wimp when watching these!
