Hay Day at Eclectic Culture Farm...

Thanks to the Elzinga Farm for cutting our hay! Nate and his wife are the new "young generation" of up and coming farmers leading the new farm age in this millennium... No farms, NO FOOD! He is a third generation farmer.

we have been busy!

We are trying to squeeze in every last bit of summer! I finally feel relaxed and not looking forward to the routine fall brings BUT I am looking forward to cider and donuts, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Today Eclectic Culture Farm and brood entered 60 projects into the Hudsonville Fair! From green beans to hand hewn crates... It was lots of fun seeing the kitty cats getting ready to enter their projects! Mom had lots of fun too! Be sure to stop into the Hudsonville Fair and see our sweet little Eclectic Culture Farm mini produce stand of sorts on display and up for a ribbon or two... Remember, everything you see is 100% pesticide free! I will try to include some photos in the next few days. Tomorrow we will be back to the fair to see if we have won anything... I will bring you updates or any breaking news of blue ribbons.

Our display, with our sign, is located in the back (east side) of the ladies barn in the produce section. Let me know if you stopped in. You might see us there!

Produce stand will be open tomorrow too at the residence.

Hope you are enjoying the last days of summer!

August 6, 2008 visitors

The Voss family visited
Eclectic Culture Farm all the way from Bakersfield, California. We had a great evening of fellowship, garden fresh food and fun. When they first got here she was wearing white high heels... By the time she left, I had her in crocks and chasing chickens out back!

My view waking up this morning... I just love our little sunflower patch with zinnias out our south facing kitchen window. This entire flower patch cost only $3- for the seeds but I have enjoyed them since the middle of June and they will continue into October... What do you enjoy?
