Off-grid wee hour baby bottles…

The Great Him is still waking in the night. After nursing sessions we offer a bottle to put him back to sleep. Making bottles in the dark is interesting, to say the least. We have had some pretty bright nights here with the moon shedding quite a bit of light onto the snow. This past evening the Gentle Giant went to make a baby bottle and didn't bring the flash light as there seemed to be enough light to pour the milk. When we woke up in the morning there lay the baby (almost 16 months) drinking chocolate milk in a bottle! He was very happy J Mother was horrified!

Hi there! I just met with your cousin?, Roxanne last night, and she gave me the link to your blog. So interesting! And this post is so funny! Well, they do say chocolate is a health food... : )

Ok, that is great. I gave Girlfriend a piece of dark chocolate the other day and you should have seen her eyes light up - probably about as bright as your moon! I'm actually comforted to hear the little guy is still waking up in the night - I get so sick of "sleeping through the night" being some ridiculous badge of honor that I feel I need to attain. Read my Lucy and Ethel post - it will give you a good laugh along this theme.
I know you wondered about nursing pregnant..Are you panicking about nursing two? Have you ever done that before??

Oh that's so funny! Bless him, I bet he thought it was great to wake in the night and be given such a treat!! My son woke through the night until he was two and a half ... and has been a 'light sleeper' ever since - just his nature, I guess!

I'm now following your blog and I love going back and reading how your family started in this wonderful way of life.

I think sleeping all night is a plot passed from one child to the next to see how many years straight they can keep us awake. I guess I'm getting used to 4 years of no sleep as I have started waking on my own at 2 a.m. I tried a couple times to count exactly how much sleep I was getting, The only thing I came up with was a tremendous headache :-) The cause of which was either lack of sleep or inability to count due to lack of sleep. Who knows. The one thing I do know is that I love them to pieces and know that one day I will look back and dream of those long gone late night snuggles, and brush a tear from my eye. I love them so much. What's a little lost sleep anyway. (sniffle, sniffle)
Thanks for the chocolate chuckle. That sounds like the kind of thing my DH would do too, and we have a light in the fridge, lol.
