off-grid games tonight

Excuse the strange lighting in the photos... You must remember that we live without electricity :)... Here we are playing Horseopoly of course (what else would a farm family play? LOL)... We had tons of fun and it actually gets quite competitive. I like games to relax, the Gentle Giant likes to WIN and strategize and then it seems not so gamey anymore for me but the children LOVE it. They team up together to win as well and it usually ends up in loud laughing and yelling and tons of fun! perfects all math skills and reading and more. The children don't even realize they are learning, not that they would mind anyway...
it is the time of year where it is getting dark earlier... We seem to do chorin', eat supper and then have family time at a much earlier time than summer of course. Seriously, we may even be in bed by 9:30 pm! You know the gist, "early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise!" Well, lets just say we've got the healthy part covered, we are on the road to the wisdom part and well, that is all... I think it would have been better said "makes one healthy, happy and wise"... We definitely have the happy part covered and thats really all that matters isn't it? What are you doin' tonight? Be sure to check back here tomorrow to see the Gentle Giant in Horseopoly action!

We spent the evening traveling north to pick up 500#+ of fresh venison for our sled dogs.

Seeing your kitchen reminds me of the wonderful days spent there. (I bet Miss P won...am I right?)

Brings back fond memories of our family playing the city version and having such a good time. Board games are such fun and teach the little ones how to count and read! What fun playing by non-electric light! Happy Thanksgiving!

I love the evenings with our lamps lit, the stove burning, hubby on computer (oh well) and me quilting. And we are usually in bed by 8! Course, that let's us up by 4:30 a.m. rested and ready for morning reading...breakfast without a rush and then a look at the sunrise as TrapperDude goes off to work. You can't buy that sorta happiness, no how, no way :)
