I'm lucky to have clotheslines right by my woodstove, but I've often wondered if it would be possible to dry out in the freezing weather. If you left them out longer, would they have dried?
We did this too :) LOL used to crack me up when we brought the jeans in, and they could stand up on the floor for a good 5 minutes by themselves. My dad hung a shower rod from the ceiling next to the woodstove, and we would hang shirts and pants there, with a drying rack below for socks and such.
Hi Ang I agree - I'm glad we have the last 2 years behind us as well - but boy, have we learnt a lot about farming! (& ourselves) Loved this clip! Renata:)
I have a picture of me holding my jeans *sideways* when I hung them in the garage to dry. We were building a new house and I guess the hot-water heat hadn't been in use yet. I just don't know if I could live off-grid, but I sure admire you all for it!

Yes, even though we are on grid, we freeze dry our clothes first and then bring inside to hang on drying racks by the wood cookstove

Ha! That's the way Laura Ingalls' mom used to dry their clothes in the winter, too!

Oh! What a bright spot at the end of my day. Gave me a good chuckle at all the noise they made clanging together! Do you just use the woodstove now?
