a new baby born today on the farm!

While doing morning chores our son looked out to one of the back pastures to see Buttercup calving in the middle of the pasture... Everything went fine, the way you want calving to go, unassisted...
Please meet and welcome "Harold" to Maple Valley off-grid Farm
Appropriately named by our Lil' Ruthie... A Jersey Cross bull calf... WE HAVE A LOT OF MILK!!!

What a handsome bull calf you all have there - and the name Harold seems to suit him just fine. Will you castrate him, then raise him for consumption? Or do you plan to keep him as a sire? I think that Jerseys have the best look about them, and I am partial to the dairy breeds. Glad you now have a great source for milk. Take care, from KY.
