Summer highlights 2010

The family that butchers 200+ chickens together stays together and occasionally fights and can yell together...

Keepin' it real!

I am curious do you use a whizbang chicken plucker to do that many or do you do them all by hand. We are going to be getting 15 Turkeys in the next month and Lord willing, some meat chickens. We haven't decided if we need the whizbang or not.

We butchered 13 roosters once and I thought that was impressive. ;)

Trixi,

We pluck all by hand :)
That could also have something to do with all the yelling! Ha!

Ugh. That is one job I would have to leave completely in the hands of my husband. But, it is good to teach the children how to do self-sustainable things. Is there a story to the little dear in the last post? Or did I somehow miss it?
