Beautiful photos! After church, we went hiking with friends and climbing rocks (which my husband and the children love...little monkeys!)So glad you all had such a nice day! :)
My husband and children started assembling the materials for a new tree house - they are so excited (husband included!) and are talking about rope bridges and a zip line which takes you from a platform and drops you into the deep end of the pool - yeah our natural pool that I sent you the photos of! I'm being 'cautiously' excited, asking those kind of mother hen questions such as 'it's not going to be too high is it?' Also spent time googling tree houses and found some amazing ones - mainly in your country that people actually live in. Off-grid, up-tree living! And I agree with Katy - another lovely homemaker who I have just met thanks to blogging, those are beautiful photos!
After Church, I went to the cemetary to visit my dad, then home to make dinner for my mom and dh's gram and of course us, lol My kids made me gifts at school, my oldest made me a flower recipe holder, and my youngest made me a tiny jewelry box with his picture inside the lid. Dh bought me a pair of birkenstock sandels!! I am a blessed mama for sure!! Glad you enjoyed your Mother's Day!! Dana
Living on a farm sure gives someone lots to write about, especially when its a former Amish farm. Incase anyone is interested, i will have an old order Mennonite woman named Jean post her 2nd post on my blog this Tuesday. Please feel free to visit and leave a question for her if you like. Richard from Lebanon county's Amish settlement.
Thank you for e-mailing me your family history. You have a really interesting site, and its very well done. Richard from Lebanon county's Amish settlement.
After church we went to my mothers house for brunch. Took a short nure walk as we do almost every sunday. The kids, found 2 snakes and a dead bat. lol The Trilliums are out but couldn't get a good picture. Maybe next sunday. Spent the rest of the day in my yard pulling weeds. It was a great day. I had all my kids together.
I milked the does, feed baby goats. Transplanted the flowers I bought at a local nursery. Gratefully received the flower pot and strawberry plant my dear husband gave me.
Spoke with both my daughter and daughter in law and assorted grand daughters.
Same husband as above ;-) supplied salad, sushi and cheesecake. Life is good!
My husband preached Sunday! It was fantastic! This was his first "real" sermon! After, raced home because his family was coming over. We had ribs on the grill, potatoes and a salad my husband's mom made that was filled with fruit and greens. We ate buffet style and my husband and I both ate outdoors! There is nothing to make your meal taste better than the great outdoors! After everyone left, we let the chickens out to the backyard and herded the goats there as well. The funny part about that was after herding the goats back to the barn, they were out again in no time at all because their indoor gate was still open!
A sunny day today in Amish country. Lots of farmers were tending to the fields trying to make-up for lost time with all the rain we were having. Richard from Lebanon county's Amish community.
We had a nice weekend. We worked on the new house. The kid's butterflies hatched that they were observing for homeschool. For Mother's Day, I sat outside and watched the kids play all day.
