To see our real working farm on some of the pages of the Feb/March/April 2011 issue of Artful Blogging.
Our photos were the farm photos in a segment.
Matt and I wake up each morning thankful and sometimes weary from making our living as small family farmers. True farming is not much of a living but a life to be lived with the richest blessings of working this 40 acres of land that God has blessed us with. The bountiful harvest to feed our family from the organic dirt and the caring of the animals for our pleasure and food is so rich! The children would acknowledge these sentiments.
In the farm photos: We still use the vintage manure spreader every week to work this farm... We aren't "playin'" farmer, so much so that the sweet manure spreader is broken down this week. The dried garlic is one variety of an heirloom plant grown right here, last year an 150 ft row! We look forward to starting our seeds again in these quaint terracotta pots in our sunhaus this spring too.
