Come to a “Spring Treasures in the Michigan Wood” Course
At Maple Valley Farm

May 4, 2012
10:30- 2:00 pm ish
This course will discuss the basics of morel hunting and the possible edibles discussed will be Morel mushroom, Ramps/Leaks, wild chives and fiddle heads.  First we will be meeting at the Maple Cottage over a farm luncheon.   We will discuss tree identification and the general habitat of morels.  After our class room talk we will head out to the practical part of the course near the White Pine Trail in Sand Lake – Howard City.  Please bring a mesh type-onion bag, small insect repellant and compass.  Dress weather appropriately.  **EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK** Maple Valley Farm does not claim any of the outdoor plants to be safe for human consumption whatsoever, nor do we recommend eating any of the plants we are referring to.  This course is merely a discussion about mushrooms and plants in the Michigan wood.
